Many of us seem to have Penang Island in our bucket lists, and almost every first trip to Penang includes a visit to the Georgetown are and old historical buildings but less people will think about Balik Pulau, Penang.
Here comes to a brief introduction about Balik Pulau....
Balik Pulau is Penang Island's main inland outpost. The name Balik Pulau means "on the other side of the island". It's a busy market town with a strip of charming old shophouses surrounded by rice fields.
All of which I want to share with you, so that you too, can have a beautiful and different experience when you come to Balik Pulau. This guide is something I put together for you lovely folks - and I made it super convenient too. All the links to spots I included are directly accessible to google maps so that you can easily "pin" & save these spots when you're on the go!

No doubt, Kim Laksa which located at Nan Guang Coffee Shop is always my favourite. There are actually two types of tasty laksa you will find here: Asam & Lemak Laksa. I can't tell you which one is nicer because it all according to your personal taste. (But I prefer Asam Laksa more, heh)

The fried finger food is just in front of the coffee shop, we ordered some as our snack.

We accidentally found this restaurant while we visited to fishing village. Jia Siang Cafe is located at the end of the road, next to the river and it's a opened-air restaurant. The best thing of this restaurant is, customer allow to buy the fresh seafood behind the restaurant (fish market) for the Chefs to cook.
(From what I think, it's much more cheaper if you buy yourself)

(Close on Thursdays)

#1 Church of The Holy Name of Jesus

This church was built in year 1854. It's a colonial-style of church in Balik Pulau. Unfortunately the church was under renovation when we visited, so we just have a look at the surrounding of the church. It's really looks majestic and nice.

We actually knew this water fall from the locals and it's a good spot for us to cool down in fresh water. The path to the water fall is really tough, we have to go through the muddy and rocky path to reach the top of the water fall. It's suitable to the people who likes adventure. A lot of locals actually picnic and refreshing themselves over there. We enjoy and relax for a lil while before go to the next station.

It can say that not much attractive activities at here but you could feel ease just walking around and enjoy the village' slow and steady kind of life-style over here. There are some fishmonger stalls in the fishing village, you can buy your favourite seafood here if you want.
#5 Balik Pulau Malindo Beach

It's a mini kind of beach which nearby to the fishing village and the scenery is really nice! We took a lot of photos over here just because of the view, we called it as "Insta-worthy". We spent almost an hour just to enjoy the breeze and the beautiful scenery.

|Lovely Chilling Spot π| #1 Heng Ga Cafe

Another hidden spot in Balik Pulau! We discover this spot when we're on the way back from the waterfall. Heng Ga is a newly launched cafe in Balik Pulau (one month). The owner of this cafe is actually from Japan and they're really friendly! This cafe do serve food (Penang Famous Laksa) and beverages (traditional Japanese tea and self-customised drinks). The environment of the cafe is cozy and suitable for us to relax. *The location can't be pin due to it's still new and can't be found in Google Map. -Must Visit Place- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Okay. Is the time to talk about my OOTD! When it comes to whole day outing, i prefer to wear something comfort yet able to avoid myself from sun burn. Of course, fashion also. I would prefer something in basic plain colour clothes in stead of fancy colours. ↯↯↯
